Replacing I Robot Monitor?

Hi all, I finally got a working original I robot power supply. I like it,
it seems to finally work well enough. The disco monitor seems to be
problematic though. I'd like to replace it with a Wells Garner 7901. Now
from what I understand it's not a direct replacement. As the isolation
transformer is on the original PS.

Anyone work on this before? Any tips?
