Still working on this PS and I have a really simple and probably dumb question:

The transformer I'm using has all different voltage tabs. I running the board on the 16.5v tab, and the lights (which go to the board) on the 6v tab - both sharing 0 volts.

I notice in one electronics catalogue, they seem to split out transformers you can do this with, and transformers that you can't. So it appears some transformers, even though they have all the voltage tabs, only like to be giving out one voltage (and no, I haven't tried just removing the 6v to see if it makes difference - the back of the cab is a wiring system from hell at the moment - I thought I'd be lazy and ask first).

Would this be accurate - or is it that some transformers are better than others at putting out dual voltages.

Thanks again everyone
