RE: Sony parts question

Thanks for all the help from everyone on the 2SK2640.
 
Anyone have any ideas on the MA7050? I am still at a loss on this one.

        Actually, the 2SK2640 is a 500 Volt, 10A, 50W power MOSFET. The
datasheet for it can be found here:

        These kinds of MOSFETs are used a lot in switching power supplies and
DC-DC converter circuits, which is probably what it's doing in Joe's
mysterious Sony item. :) Unfortunately, NTE has no cross for them.

        Sound & Light Electronics (www.slelectronics.net) also has them, for
$4.35 apiece. (These guys are a good source for many of the oddball and
hard-to-locate semiconductors used in monitors these days, BTW.)
