This will not cause a longer coin pulse. The only thing I see is it blowing the inverter.

The reset for the score counters comes from the normally closed side of the coin switch...in effect yet another Atari design that was designed to never work from day 1! They probably didn't care that the score came up randomly at power up because the first coin fixed it (and the prototype probably always came up with actual numbers instead of odd characters).

Goes right up there with other stupid designs like Sprint 8 (software quit looking at coin inputs if someone pressed the track-change switch) and Breakout (doesn't reset bricks if game started with serve button pressed).
