The 9010a tape drive has a 8041 micro controller that converts byte code commands from the 9010a Z-80 main board.&nbsp; The microcontroller generates the BDC 4-3(flux change)&nbsp; tone code for the tape head.&nbsp; I am in the process of developing an OCX and a front end prg to control the 9000 series pods from a PC parallel printer port and use an external power supply to power the pod.&nbsp; This will allow customized VB or C prg to be written to control the pods and eliminate the 9010a unit entirely.&nbsp; I plan to have this competed in a month or so.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <br>
