<div>I've got several of those, and when I break one of the little
pins I simply put the remaining pins in a 40 pin IC socket and jumper
a tiny wire to the broken pin corresponding pin on the new
socket.</div>

<div>I also use these 40 pin IC sockets as "Sacrifice"
sockets on all my Fluke 40 pin test plugs. These are not the machined
pin sockets, rather the double wipe ones seem to have solder leads
that are closest in size and thickness to regular IC's and thus do no
damage the UUT's socket.</div>
