Fluke 9100 signature analysis?

hi all.

has anyone come up with a scheme for using the 9100 for standalone signature
analysis? ie using a NOP adapter in the cpu socket, and using the probe to
read node signatures from the display in UFI mode?

I have managed to take stable signatures from a few nodes, but i can't
guarantee the accuracy or extent of the test..

This was on a missile commnad, i'm using theta 2 as clk, start is on A15..

[sync probe to ext enable always clock | start | stop count 1000]
(clock down arrow, start down arrow)

then, place probe on node under test, and hit [probe arm], then [probe show]

So basically it generates a CRC from 1000 samples after the falling start
edge, which i suppose is a clunky way of sampling a repeating pattern (a nop
adapter).

But is this really a reliable way of taking signatures? i havn't managed to
get the start/stop rising/falling edge combination right to get stable
signatures any other way, am i missing something, and what start/stop scheme
do you guys use? (if any!)

interested to hear back from you..

Andy
