Hi Jose,
it's a logic comparator, I guess you won it on Ebay some days ago.The 552
model you have is for CMOS testing while the 550 model is for TTL.I have
both of these.
The operation simply; put a good known IC in the ZIF socket, connect the
clip to the IC on the unit under test, press the TEST button.If the OK led
will light, then the IC is good otherwise some of the numbered LEDs will go
ON telilng you there is a problem on that PIN (usually outputs).Please, keep
in mind that this device is not perfect and it will give you false positive
when, for example, output of an IC is tied to GROUND or VCC or when you are
testing particular devices like flip-flop, counters, latches (you have to
CLEAR these before testing).Obviously, your comparator need to take POWER
and GROUND from the unit under test by connecting the RED and BLACK clips.
Later I will scan the manual of my B&K 552 and send it to you.
