Do you mean everything displays fine but there is a dark spot where nothing
gets drawn in the middle of the screen? If so, your spot killer circuitry
didn't work properly and the phosphors there got burned so that spot on the
monitor is dead. Did I understand your question correctly?

My Asteriods tabletop has a spot in the middle of the screen.
Other than that the game looks fine.
Is this the spot killer circuit or is that only the culprit when you have
no video?
