Tech: Transistor on regulator bd cause spot?

Hi,

I think I found one problem on my asteriods regulator board.

There are to power transistors on it and one seems broken (using
multimeter) could this cause cause the spot thingy to come on?

Now how do I get a replacement for a:

7810
BDX87B
2N6057

Gregg's most excellant (we are not worthy) monitor faq helped
me start trying to find the problem but it doesn't mention this
flavour of transistor..

P.S. How does one know if one needs a cap kit. Or if your have it apart
tune it up anyway?
