I always thought that sound was from worn bearings.

While we are on the subject of Tempest spinners...

Does anyone know why Major Havoc seems to not move at all when you spin
the spinner too fast??? Is there any way to correct this? Does anyone
else experience this? Also, has anyone figured out where to get
replacements for those little teflon thingys that I assume is the cause of
the grinding sound when you spin an old worn out spinner really fast?
