On second thought, There is probably only one correct way to eliminate the
"secondary emission": sample the x&y inputs, and when they go beyond a
setpoint, enable a fast spot killer. Unfortunately, this would add about a
dollar or two to the price of the monitor. It's not clear to me if this is
a good or bad idea.
