In the same vein...
Did you measure the resistance of the coils to see if they're close to each
other like a vector yoke should be? (Unlike a raster where one winding will
be much higher resistance than the another.)
(The reason I ask is that I've run across some weird Amplifone stuff that
was definately *not* vector. Maybe more from the Disco era like I,Robot and
whatnot...)
