Rounded text would probably be a slew-rate problem. Could be the deflection
amps or the yoke, or both. The Vectrex display was driven by an integrator
that was switched to each axis and was updated by software control from the
6809, so it was probably not designed to go particularly "fast". (I'd
suspect the Atari AVG could easily outrun it.)

I doubt it'll be the Z section. If you're getting lines that don't "close"
(more than normal for the AVG) it could be a blanking timing issue, but I'd
still be more inclined to think it's the x/y slew rate not keeping up...
