Hi, I'm a new collector and just found out about this list recently. I
wondered if someone could answer this for me:

I have a standup Star Wars arcade machine (with Cowgill's ESB Multikit
installed) that's been having issues since the day I got it. I've been able
to get it working for periods of time, only to have it sometimes turn on
with working sound, but without forming a picture (nothing but a bright dot
in the center of the WG6100 monitor). At one point, it even turned on and
formed jagged, squiggly vector lines in the lower-left corner of the
monitor only!

Doing some Internet research, I bought ZANEN's WG6100 Get Well Kit #206 and
also the LV2000 low voltage bypass circuit thing. I'm hoping that
installing these two kits will fix the aforementioned problems.

BUT: I read Greg Woodcock's XY repair document on the ZANEN #206

and he seems to suggest I should buy a whole bunch of other resistors,
transistors, capacitors, diodes, and fuses to make the upgrade "Complete."

Now I'm all for this, but finding all the parts on the list, either online
or locally, has been a nightmare. I was able to find some of the parts
(mostly resistors and diodes), but not all.

My question is, when I have a repair tech come out and do the cap kit /
lv2000 replacements/installation, should I have him replace some of the
additional parts as Woodcock suggests, or would this screw things up if I
don't have all the parts? Would it be best to leave well enough alone?

Finally: Am I taking the right fix approach here, or does this sound like a
different problem all together?
