RE: Tempest monitor has no +25VDC

Specifically, you should be looking for header pins -- a row of pins that
the associated (Molex) connector plugs to.

Looking at the back of the PCB at the pins, if you look closely, you will
probably see one or more small cracks around the pins in the solder. These
are called cold solder joints, and occur over time as the pins are wiggled
back and forth trying to remove the connector (among other reasons). Unless
you happen to have a miracle board, you will undoubtedly see one or more
pins w/ this condition.

To fix, remove the solder from the pins at both ends. Clean the area and
pins and reapply fresh new solder. If the solder doesn't stick very well to
the pins, remove the new solder and clean again, you will need to remove the
oxidation from the pins w/ either a cleaner or by scraping. Once you have
the two end pins resoldered, do the remaining pins on that connector. (The
reason to do the ends first, then the others is to keep the connector from
falling out if there were no solder holding it in.)

Repeat the procedure for all header pins on the monitor PCBs.

Note -- this is a *VERY COMMON* condition on all types of pin connectors.
You should check all such connectors on the game (typically found on some
game boards and most all power supplies).
