Dang -- I know I've done this. Wait- - on mine, hitting the self-test switch
puts me in self-test mode. You have to do a reset (or power-on) while the
self-test is on to get to the menu.
Maybe this is an indication of how your machine is broken -- or you are
powering-on while in self-test.
