Have you already replaced "Big Blue" ? Bob Roberts sells a great replacement for $7.

Subject: VECTOR: WG 6101 doing the hula

Two different monitors for a Tempest

First monitor the screen is doing a lot of cyclical wave, gets worse when there are a lot of vectors up at once. Installed a LV2000 and seemed to get worse. Tried a different deflection / LV board and the problem is less noticeable.

Second monitor put the LV2000 board in and it does the hula a bit (not nearly as bad as the first monitor). Put the second deflection board in an the problem goes away. So I am thinking something is wrong in the +/- 27V to the HV cage.

So I think the LV2000 board is having some trouble providing the +- 27V. Need to figure that out.

In the monitor that hula's no matter what board what is the suggested fix? Is this caps or something else?

    Suggestions?

    David
