Its actually pretty well hidden. If you look at the high voltage transformer inside the HV cage, you'll notice a slimy, dirty, grimy, filthy hump in the cable that goes to the tube right where it meets the cage. If you pull that filthy mess apart, you'll find that the HV diode is in there. I have no idea if you should clean that slimy crap off when you replace the diode or if it is serving a purpose there. By the way, you should note which direction the diode is pointing before you change it.
