Wouldn't the obvious thing be the switch itself ? As far as I know, the
power and interlock switches are simply in series -- turning any one off
kills the AC power to the supply. There isn't any inherant difference in
how the circuit operates using one instead of another .

I would start by opening and cleaning that switch itself (if possible) -- or
just not using it. Sort of like the old joke:

Patient: Doctor, Doctor, it hurts when I do this.
Doctor: So don't do that !
