Stay with .01 uF, a very common value. If you have to you can use a
higher voltage part.. The Radio Shack 272-131 (comes as a two pack for
about $1.20) should do the trick, it's .01 uF at 500 volts. No, it's
not axial lead, that gets tricky to find, but the regular ceramic disk
should have enough lead length to fit, just don't bend the leads too
close to the disc itself.

The only reason I suggested Radio Shack is that it's quicker to buy
parts locally and the slightly higher costs are offset by what you would
pay in shipping otherwise.

A ceramic capacitor can be replaced with any other type except
electrolytic. Ceramics are used when a circuit really doesn't care and
you want to keep costs down. They are a bottom-of-the-barrel capacitor.
