Is there overvoltage protection on this? It didn't quite look like the
one in the pictures had it.

Congrats! You are now God! Where do you want the shrine built? :-)
Thanks but I'm No God... hehe Just a laid off engineer.. :(

OKay here is the info on these baby's :)

Also, what kind of HV unit is that? Who makes it? What are their plans
with respect to end-of-life-ing the part?

We are working on a deal with Steven Gregory to be the retailer of
these. I don't know what the final cost will be you'd have to shoot him
an email when and If we strike up a deal. I would guess between
$120-$130 maybe less depending on the quantity he buys and his markup
and all that. We should have quanity of finished ready to go units in
2-2.5 weeks.

Not sure what you mean by what kind of HV unit? It is plug and play
for the WG6100 with the exception of drilling 2 small holes in your old
metal cage. It runs on 24Vdc and produces 180VDC for your color guns and
19.5KVH for your anode. It uses a readily available flyback and a
switching power supply so it is very effiecient. It draws less then 2
amps full load. It should be an easy adaption to work with an Amplifone
and with more hacking work with a GO8.

Finally, are you working on a deflection board as well?!?!?!

YES this is the next Project..........

For any that are interested here are Pic's of the new High
Voltage replacement for the WG6100 (Tempest, Space Dual, ETC.) This is
easily mounted in your orginal aluminum box as you can see.
