Turn the X size pot back and forth a few times. You may also want to
replace it.

Subject: VECTOR: Star Wars problems

I have a star wars with an amplifone monitor in it that has some strange
behavior.
This game also has an Arcadeshop HV board (but I don't think the HV
board is
the problem)

Most of the time the screen looks normal, but sometimes (either after
it's
been on for a while or sometimes when it's first turned on) the screen
will
shake and very rapidly change size, but only in the x (horizontal)
direction. All horizontal lines are stable, except getting longer and
shorter. (this is why I don't think the HV unit has anything to do with
it).
The output from the board looks fine on my scope (while it
simultaneously
looks bad on the monitor).

I poked around on the deflection board a bit and haven't found anything
obvious, but I don't have a lot of experience with amplifone boards.
Anybody
know off the top of their head what the problem might be?

Thanks
-jeff
