Re: 6100 HV help

On the HV with the overvoltage problem I poked around and found ZD901 suspicious. I replaced it and voltage is now back to where it should be and I'm able to adjust it as well.
Thanks for the suggestions!

As for the HV cage with the low 10KV problem. ZD902 was replaced with a new one. I must also make mention that Q901 burns up when powered up and R901 gets very hot. Q900 was tested good.
How would you test a 555? Would I need a scope?
Thanks for the help!

Also check the trace between D901 and the HV transformer as they have been known to crack. check C916

The one with 10kv could be a bad ZD902

Subject: VECTOR: 6100 HV help

I have been working on two HV's and both have the exact opposite problem. One has HV at 29KV's(at anode) and the other has HV at 10KV's. Both have been capped and I have been through all resistors and they are all within tolerance. Diodes have been checked and test fine. Transisters are fine. Adjusting the POT(R18? off the top of my head) does nothing to change the voltage in either case. Both display an image just one is huge(10KV) and one I'm afraid of getting X-ray(29KV) exposure to. Is there something I'm missing here? Any suggestions?
Thx,
Jason
