Here's a link to the data sheet PDF:

It states the Field of view is 17 deg. X 17 deg. and the min. focus distance is 0.6m (2 ft.)

The $2995 price that John Robertson found is also what I came up with.....it's under the $3K pain threshold but not by much!

  I hadn't seen that one before-- I was originally looking at the bigger brother (the InfraCAM SD), but they always seem to be >$5K. The downside with the i5 would appear to be the 80x80 pixel resolution for the imaging array. (the InfraCAM is 80x160)

  I wonder what the minimum focal distance is... If I can get a few inches field of view that's probably good enough. Thanks for the pointer!
