Re: identical G05-802 problem with 2 different deflection PCBs

I've got a Cabaret Battlezone, it was working fine (honest) ... Recently
when I dug the machine out for a show, it died... and I had to steal a
deflection board from my Asteroids Project....

I'm looking at the old board now... It is a P299 version... and has a
resistor mod on the bottom (in parallel to R516).

The one I used was a little different but did the job..... I did double
check and the two boards were indeed from different models of chassis... I
could only find one difference I think... it was P500.... the connector
woudn't fit as old board had a pin missing, and the connector had a
polarising plug in the pin... removed plug and fitted and worked....

Does indeed work though.... or seems to !!! ??? !!! ...... It held up all
weekend at the show.....

>From the B+W vector Faq... I think it said a lot of the parts were
interchangeable.....

Hope this helps, I was quite puzzled though, and did have a look at the
schems - it is a little different and the missing pin carried a voltage back
somewhere !!!

As a side note, I sent Vernimark one of my 802 monitors (untested - presumed
not working as was missing some chassis transistors and had some corrosion),
and he swapped the guts over from a working 805, and metioned that the
wiring loom was a little different....but he got it working...

Cheers, Colin
