MC1 is nothing but inductors, so adding a little wire isn't going to bother.

well it's a Red, and there is a nice little bulge on the side where it looks
like it's gotten hot. So it's a good bet it's toast. After looking at the
circuit a bit more, one side of the MCI is DC voltage so there should be no
problem doing a remote mount there. However the other side does get
frequency so I'm going to try to keep the wire length to a min. Also after
looking at the problem from a different angle. I may be able to mount the
MCI on the solder side, by using eyelet inserts, so as to have something to
solder to from the other side. It will require raising the Deflection/HV
board up a bit more in the monitor housing, which may be doable. Depends on
how close it moves it to the CRT.

You are correct about the flyback not being mentioned as compatible with the
13" I don't really see a reason why it wouldn't be though. It will be fun
finding out :) I'll have to take some pictures, and post them as I do this.
In the rare case that someone else may try to do this. Plus I've got another
13" amp I need to rebuild as well. So hopefully this goes well.
