The picture you see is of my prototype which I ordered without solder mask on either side because it's about $200 cheaper.
 
The preorder is for the PCB that will have full green solder mask on both sides. It will also have silkscreened part reference numbers just like the Atari version.
 
I prefer to have the mask as well as it helps keep soldering shorts from happening.

One question: Does the solder mask need to be absent on the component side of the board?  Did you do this to be faithful to the original or is there some other reason?  I’d prefer to have a top solder mask for a variety of reasons.
