I think the biggest problem is the speed of the fastest galvos is slower
than the speed of electron beam across the fast of a CRT. Perhaps if you
kept the maximum deflection angle small, and projected the beam over a
long distance so the resulting image was large enough to be interesting,
it might work. However, I remember the guys who did lasermame a few years
ago wrote code to optimize the vector list generated by the game before
sending it to the laser to be projected.

Maybe galvos have gotten a lot faster in the last few years but I suggest
you do the math on the speed of the galvos and the speed of a typical line
drawn on the CRT before you spend any real money on equipment.
