I use a weller desolder station Iron, don't have to much issue on Tempest
boards. Solder wick I wouldn't use. Could solder sucker and time.

I don't personally like the round machine pinned sockets. They are hard to
insert chips into, They are great if you have new chips going. Plus they
are more expensive.
