Thanks, William.  Eighty nine bucks for a desoldering station gets my attention.  Even if I don't use it for my Tempest board, it's just low enough in price to have it around. That's not quite the way I would describe a solder sucker but, it's still accurate nonetheless;). ________________________________ From: William Boucher <wboucher6_at_cogeco.ca> To: vectorlist_at_vectorlist.org Sent: Thu, July 12, 2012 12:43:29 AM Subject: Re: VECTOR: Tempest Well sure, a Pace station costs $1000, but you can use something way cheaper like one of these... http://www.circuitspecialists.com/bk4000.html http://www.ownta.com/aoyue-474-desoldering-station.html   Beats a single-shot hand-cocked solder sucker any day.   Dang, was that a dirty joke or is it just me?   William Boucher http://www.biltronix.com ----- Original Message ----- >From: Robert Bayes >To: vectorlist_at_vectorlist.org >Sent: Wednesday, July 11, 2012 11:55 PM >Subject: Re: VECTOR: Tempest > > >Thank you, Chuck.  That is a very kind offer and I so wish I could take you up >on it.  Unfortunately, I'm in Houston and won't be anywhere near Herndon this >weekend.  Maybe if KLOV holds a party nearer to me, I could get it done then.  >It's just hard to justify a $600~$1200 investment in a soldering station for one >board. > > >Robert > > > > ________________________________ From: Chuck <chuck_at_localsurfer.com> >To: vectorlist_at_vectorlist.org >Sent: Wed, July 11, 2012 5:50:51 PM >Subject: Re: VECTOR: Tempest > >I have a Pace desoldering station if you are close by, you are more than welcome >to stop over and use it.
