Another AVG replacement

I've ordered and have been extremely satisfied with Bill Boucher's AVG replacements.
 
However, does anyone know the background on this AVG replacement:

Interested in hearing about the "This replacement was thoroughly exercised using a custom developed test jig and script, the analysis was used to validate the replacement and assure 100% compatibility. " statement and the development process in general.
 
One thing I really liked about Bill's replacements were some issues with original chips that he corrected in his version.  Interested to hear of arcadeshop's version addressed these items.
