Re: Weird distorted shapes

An update on this. I am still waiting on the OEM transistors to arrive. But
the mean time we were discussing why we thought there may be a difference
large enough to effect the signal and give us our 'bowing' lines as
described by Rodger Boots when he said that a slowing signal would have
that effect...

We compared the specs of the replacement 2N5884 and the Original Motorola
2N3716:

2N5884: http://alltransistors.com/transistor...ransistor=5278<http://alltransistors.com/transistor.php?transistor=5278>

2N3716: http://alltransistors.com/transistor...ransistor=3504<http://alltransistors.com/transistor.php?transistor=3504>

The only value that we found to be really off is Cc: 800pF for the 5884 and
only 10pF for the 3716.

So the thing that stood out to me was that the extra capacitance in the
newer replacement may be enough to slow the signal down and cause the
bowing of the line as it is drawn across the displacement field as
described by Rodger.

What do we think about that?
