Using a PC power supply for my test rig...

I am still getting parts together for my test bench rig. I'm going to use
the 5" color Samtron CGA monitor, as suggested by various people on the
list, and I was able to get a couple of EL4583C samples from Elantec for the
sync splitter.

Rather than pony up the money for an AC line filter, a real arcade power
supply, a power switch, etc, I'm thinking of just using a used PC power
supply (this is nice since the CGA monitor has a power hookup that plugs
right in, as I recall). Is there a reason why using a PC supply is a bad
idea for a test rig? I've got one that delivers something like 20A@5V,
9A@12V, and 0.5A@-5V/-12V, which seems to be sufficient for what your
typical PCB needs.

Thanks,

P.S. Thanks again to all the people who offered to program EPROMs for me - I
really appreciate the help...
