There's another alternative to cutting out the notches. That is, mount
the WG just like the Amplifone was mounted. Use the brackets from the
Amplifone tube to mount the WG tube. The only bit of creativity you'll
need to do, is deciding how you'd like to mount the deflection board and
the high voltage board. The other alternative, is to keep the Amplifone
tube in there, and use it with your WG chassis components. You'll still
need to mount the HV and deflection boards, but at least you don't have
to remove the HV tube. The added benefit of using the Amplifone tube is
that the display will continue to look excellent given the finer
resolution of this tube.

Before I had a real SW cabinet, I had SW running with a WG. I was blown
away when I finally hooked up the Amplifone. I honestly think it's
worth the expense to buy the new WinTron and install that - unless you
really think you won't appreciate the enhanced quality of the Amplifone
display.

Either way, good luck with the project.
