Ah, but it isn't as fast or as satisfying. Whack, solder out, whack IC's
out...actually if one practises a bit it is a VERY fast way of
desoldering devices, and the heat is only on for a few seconds, heat
guns take a while and I'm always afraid of overheating the device.
I've used this to desolder large old computer boards with lots of
obsolete parts.
