First, my Tempest's non-skirted knob is not broken. It is moulded that way.
The upper portion is exactly the same as the skirted version - same
diameter, same knurling, same ridge around the top. It just doesn't have the
skirt.

I remember through the years seeing and playing both types. I've posted
questions about this to RGVAC and many people confirmed that both were used.
Many people have preferences for one kind or another. Some think the skirt
gets in the way, but I prefer it.

So with that said, anyone have an NOS skirted knob they want to sell me? Or
how 'bout trade for my non-skirted one. :)
