All this talk about the Lm3886 ic got me thinking-the power rating for it
is
for a sinewave output! These IC's were made for driving speakers-I bet the
stress of "holding" the beam at the edge of the screen may just be too much
for it...(never designed to output bias) Many years ago I played with
this-most amps I tried oscilated if enough DC current was output. Anyone
consider a bridged system?
BTW, if an vector driver system can be designed to use +-55 to +-65 volt
supplies, it should be done; this voltage range is used in almost every home
stereo system! I have many big spare transformers in this range, and the
cost should be lower since they are in wide use...
