WG6100 HV Crackle

Ok, I've got a little bit of crackling in the focus/screen assembly of my
WG6100 HV unit. It starts off slowly (just 1 or 2 crackles every few minutes)
and gradually they get closer together until it's really starting to sound
like a good bit of arcing inside the unit after about 15-20 minutes.

So, I tried the HV cage in another monitor the other night and guess what...
no problems! So that leads me to believe that it HAS to be in the low voltage
section on the deflection board (where an LV2000 sits), right??? I disconnect
all the power transistors and run just the deflection board by itself.
Checking the voltages on P100, I do have +/- 26V (as the manual for the LV2000
says). I also checked for the presense of AC ripple, and the supply looks
pretty stable and clean.

Am I missing something here???
