Bizarre Bezerk Power Up

Gang,

Finally getting to work on the Bezerk mini.

When you power up it just sits there doing nothing for about 5 minutes. Then
all of a sudden it performs the self test that it should on power up.

If you then power off and power on - there is no delay in the test running.
The boardset comes up as it should.

Does anyone else's Berzerk work like this? Long delay in startup.

The games has a 'valid power' circuit on it and I'm wondering if there is
anything in the PS that would cause that delay. It's only a couple of bridge
retifiers, 5600uf caps and voltage regulators.

Power is actually there at power up - the boardset just doesn't think it's
'valid'.

Any ideas?
