Space Duel Question

Hello Everyone,
I've been away for awhile, but I'm finally moved, sort of, to my new
apartment near Youngstown, OH and although there isn't tons of room for
games, I have managed to stake out a small area to work on my Space Duel
cocktail. Broke my heart to put the rest into storage, but hopefully, we'll
be into a house complete with work area and rec room within a year.

To the heart of the problem: I was able to get the Space Duel up to a point
where it is playing blind, I'm watching the x and y output on my o-scope and
seeing what looks like a spider on the display. There is a central point,
very intense moving off to the left on the screen are many "legs" moving
about in reaction to game activity, along the left side of the screen but
flattened out are several more intense flattened shapes which are attached
to the "legs". It's almost like watching the beams drawing the screen from
a side view if that were possible, it's kind of cool to watch, almost
hypnotic, but I'd rather be playing the game the way it was intended.

I'm thinking it must be some sort of counter problem or something, has
anyone run into this and have a good place for me to start checking? I
would really appreciate any assistance I can get, I need a vector fix!! N64
just doesn't cut it, and there's not really room to bring down the rest of
the collection right now.

Thanks in advance for any help you can send my way!

See ya,
Jeff Bovee
