i did think it a trifle odd you know...

what would you suggest? replacement with another of the same type, or
replace it with a 2n3716? I favour the former if indeed i can locate the
parts.

heh, well yeah.. but i've seen a friends battlezone caberet and it has a
magnificent picture.. this picture doesn't do the game justice.. for
example, the (C) logos on the bottom of the screen next to 'atari' don't
line up at all well, and at the start/end of a long vector, there is quite a
bit of a wonky line instead of dead straight.. It looks like the deflection
transistors are the most likely source of the problem, and it does't look
like all that much hassle to replace them seeing as i've got the machine in
bits already :)

My problem? i'm a perfectionist, but seriously... if anyone saw it, you'd
say it needed fixing :)
