GO5 hv shield revisisted

Hey guys

I had some time today and decided I was gonna attempt to make some kind of cover for my 13" go5. Hunting around for something to fabricate one out of I came across some aluminum mesh. I don't know exactly what it was for, maybe for putting around small plants. It comes on a roll and is about 7 or 8" wide with a diamond pattern. Kinda looks like what Midway used for their back door vents. Its easy to cut and form around the hv assy.

Since its a rather loose mesh I used 2 layers of it overlapping mid-way to tighten up the pattern. I didn't want to drill any holes so I just bent it around the heatsinks and secured it with some small zipties.

Works like a champ. Display is rock solid now. I'm sure this stuff is available at like an Ace hardware or similar place for cheap.

This trick should work for all you 6100 guys too until you find the original.

Another fine improvisation by the boardjunkie!

Have a good one (or a warm one, damn its hot here in Mi)

Laters
Travis
