Battlezone AUX BD - Mathbox Timeout

Greetings,

I have a BZ AUX BD that is bad. The BZ game board and monitor are known
good. Problem goes away with a substitute AUX BD.

The symptoms are that when you start the game, you get some tank sounds for
about 6 seconds, but they will not change if you move the controls. Then it
goes silent. There is also no picture. The diagnostics say that it is a
mathbox timeout error (T), but I have replaced every socketed chip on that
board with known good ones with no luck.

I guess it might be a bad socket, but how do I test for continuity on on the
sockets and not take hours and hours to do it? I have resoldered the
interconnect pins and the cable is known good.

Anyone recommend a good stradegy for tackling this problem?

All advise is greatly appreciated.
