Asteroids Deluxe problem...

Have you ever had a problem that just left you ripping your hair out???

...Well here's mine, so I hope someone can help me with it :o)

Game did play fine, but a timer gave out. On replacing, the game appears to
run fine again, but the ship is really 'jerky' when you rotate it.
EVERYTHING else is fine... Now it doesn't jump all over the screen or
anything, but it certainly isn't 'clean' when it turns around.

Please can anyone help, I'm getting the feeling these boards are beyond me
