Transistors don't age if not used. Unless they are dropped...as I mentioned
before the typical cause of XY output transistor failure is ground faults
between the power supply, MPU/Video and the monitor. Beef the ground
(common) connections up with jumper wires that can handle the current- a
couple of 18 gauge wires at least.
