Screwy characters on a Star Wars display with WG monitor

Many of the chars are heavily missformed. In particular A, W, M are almost unreadable.

Any ideas? The monitor has been recapped but it is a WG from a tempest.

Hooked it up to a tempest and the tempest chars are just fine.

Does the same thing with multiple SW boards.

Is this to be expected with the WG in SW? Or is there something I can do to fix it?
