Whooahh! I would not hook your earth ground to chasis ground! Just make sure
all your ground connections are clean and crud free. Leave the harness as
stock, but make sure your connections are good. The molex connector to the
monitor can get dirty, make sure your pins are shiny and clean and replace as
needed.
