Because everything I've read said to look for a clean waveform output from a
555 timer, which will be square. I was figureing that if it changed from
sqaure to sine at some point it would have said so.
But I've just downloaded the 1.2 version of the FAQ and a letter from Bret
Pehrson in it seems to state quite explicitly it should be square wave.
Ooooh -- but there are now troubleshooting waveforms on page 38 ! Hmmm, ok,
let me compre this tonight and see what I see.
