The 2916 (or was it a 29116?) was 4 2901's and a 2902 lookahead carry
generator in one huge package. In any case, no one socket on the game
board is going to have all the data for an all-in-one chip).

These days a gate array could probably do the job and would be faster
and lower power to boot (no relation to me (a joke)).
